COURSE OVERVIEW

5S is still and will be relevant to the manufacturing industry as the main process for upkeeping the operational environment of many industries. This course will impart knowledge and application skills for operational level workers in applying 5S in the manufacturing industry. Skills will focus on housekeeping rules, self-discipline, and standards in the maintenance of a clean and tidy work area/ environment.

COURSE OUTLINE

• SEIRI                    – Clear unnecessary items from work area
• SEITON               – Organize work area in an orderly manner
• SEISO                   – Clean work area
• SEIKETSU            – Maintain work area cleanliness
• SHITSUKE            – Maintain self-discipline in the work area
• Learn to identify these 5 elements of 5S in your workplace
• Know what action to take to address these 5S elements

COURSE OUTCOMES

Participants are able to

• Identify the 5S elements
• Describe the 5S criteria and its process
• Use the steps to address each ‘S’
• Use the methods to maintain the 5S in the workplace

Technicians, Machinists, Administrative staff, Storeman in the Precision Engineering industry.
